During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to someone’s life, we would love to hear from you!

We are seeking the support of volunteers who have 1-2 hours per week or fortnight for a regular visit to a person who is isolated and managing a chronic health condition. The person wants support with connecting to the community. Our consumers are diverse, and we encourage people from different backgrounds, languages and life experiences to apply.

For success in this role you will be warm, caring, reliable, have a current drivers licence and access to a car. The types of activities you might do together include: supporting the consumer to reconnect with community activities or groups, walking, art and craft, or a chat over coffee in a café, gentle exercise or sport.

Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote SD-Oct-102. **Please note that during COVID-19 visits will take place in line with Uniting and government COVID safe guidelines.

Uniting is a child safe organisation and is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, at all times. As a ‘child safe’ organisation, employment with Uniting is subject to a satisfactory national (and international where relevant) police check and relevant Working with Children Check in your State prior to commencement of any paid or unpaid work and/or participation in any service or undertaking.

Uniting is also committed to equal opportunity and ensuring the workplace is reflective of the community. We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with a disability.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
