Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love.

Claire describes herself as easy going, chatty, social and friendly. Claire enjoys colouring, reading, listening to music and watching TV and especially likes crime shows, and daytime soaps! She seeks a kind, thoughtful, patient, good listener with the ability to speak on any number of topics to support her to reconnect with her community.

You'll need effective communication skills and an ability to creatively reconnect Claire to her interests, which include embroidery, tapestry, sewing, knitting and dancing. Visits may include accompanying Claire on walks, movie, coffee or lunch outings or to do some personal shopping. You will hold a valid Australian driver’s license and have access to a car that you will be prepared to transport Claire* in during visits. The confidence to work independently is a must.

As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will assist you throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. Interested?
