If you are patient, have good interpersonal/listening skills and the ability to communicate sensitively with elderly people then this could be the volunteer role for you.

The Community Visitor Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.

Volunteers will be required to have a current Influenza vaccination or be willing to get one, as well as up to date Covid 19 vaccination status. RAT tests on entry and masks are a current requirement of visiting aged care facilities.
