Second Chances SA is a charity restoring hope and changing communities by managing op shops, and a furniture warehouse among other services aimed at supporting prisoners, families and communities.

It also provides a banking service to prisoners as endorsed by Dept Correctional Services Each week prisoners trust us to do their banking. We receive written authority from prisoners to do banking on their behalf.

Second Chances is looking for trusted community volunteers who will visit banks and mail cheques and/or money orders to the prison to complete these requests.

If you are looking to volunteer your time one day a week in a community setting, you will be rewarded by knowing you’ve helped to reduce stress for both staff and prisoners. Prisoners will be able to stay in contact with their families and buy some basic items to get through their time.

Second Chances also offers some property transport on behalf of prisoners.

• No experience required, full training provided
• We are looking for a friendly and open person with a willingness to work within a team * Driver's licence is essential
• Working with vulnerable persons check and employment probity will be arranged and is free for volunteers
