At Meals on Wheels we assist many people in the community to live independently in their own homes by providing a high quality meal delivery service.

Our customers include those who cannot cook or shop for themselves with ease, such as older people, people with a disability, carers or those recovering from an illness or injury. Meals are delivered hot from Monday to Friday or frozen, allowing customers more dining flexibility especially for weekends and Public Holidays.

You will be part of a team that ensures our meals are prepared to the highest standard.

Role/Responsibilities:

Help prepare soup of the day. Help prepare vegetables, mains and desserts. Serve meal portions ready for delivery. Follow policy and procedures to ensure utensils and kitchen space are cleaned in accordance with food safety requirements. Demonstrate tolerance and encouragement of fellow volunteers in a team approach. Support committee/team members by adapting readily to change.

Skills/Requirements:

Relate to and interact effectively with a range of people from diverse backgrounds. Work cooperatively in a team environment to prepare meals. Adhere to food safety and handling practices. All volunteers are required to have a Police Clearance (valid within 2 years of the release date). Meals on Wheels are authorised to conduct police checks for applicants requiring this service. *Covid Vaccinations (including booster) are mandatory.
