Pushing Barriers aims to support and empower youth from a refugee background through the universal language of sport. PB provides opportunity for children aged 12-18 years by offering financial and logistical support to play club sport. We identify what sport our participants would like to play, register them at a local club, provide transport to trainings and games while offering support throughout the season by collaborating with clubs, coaches, participants and their families. PB is a NFP organisation running entirely on volunteers.

In your role as a Team Liaison Officer, activities may include:

Establish and maintain good communication between Pushing Barriers and allocated Clubs during the sport season.

Establish and maintain contact with team managers and coaches notifying them if participant is unable to train or play, trouble shoot any issues and report any significant information to PB program manager or club.

Maintain close communication with Pushing Barriers participants ensuring they are informed and updated with training and game details.

Drive participants to and from training and season fixtures.

Monitoring of the overall well-being of the player and report any concerns and incidents to the Program Manager.

Ensure all players have required club uniforms and suitable footwear.

Coordinate end of season attendance at functions including RSVP’s from players, also liaising with PB regarding end of season team gifts for coaches and managers and photographs.

Blue Card and current Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle is required. Position is Centrelink approved. Commitment of 2-5 hours per week is required.
