Energetic and Visionary Treasurer

The WCI Treasurer is an integral part of our leadership team and we are really keen to find the right person who can help us grow this association that has so much potential to create real change for women.

Our Treasure will be responsible for the financial supervision of the organisation. We need them to help us ensure that the Committee can provide good governance. The Treasurer is responsible to regularly report on WCI‘s financial status to both the Committee and the Association members. The Treasurer is also responsible for considering the sustainability of the organisation and implementing financial systems to support this.

Desirable Attributes:

The WCI Treasurer will have:

  • good organisational skills, with the ability to communicate when they are unable to deliver within a timeframe
  • financial expertise and a vision for creating sustainability in a community not-for-profit ecosystem
  • the ability to maintain accurate records
  • commitment to the cause of women's empowerment and community development
  • an honest and trustworthy disposition
  • good computer skills
  • well-developed communication skills

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provides advice to the Committee in their management of the Association's finances
  • Administers all financial affairs of WCI
  • Leads the annual budget process and ensures an appropriate annual budget is provided to the Committee for approval
  • Ensures the development, and Committee review, of financial policies and procedures
  • Supports any required auditing processes
  • Records and provides a receipt for all incoming monies
  • Banks all monies received
  • Pays all accounts, in partnership with assigned account signatories
  • Maintains accurate records of all income and expenditure
  • Ensures that all receipts and payments concur with bank deposits and withdrawals
  • Prepares monthly financial reports – presents at monthly committee meetings
  • Arranges and dispatches invoices for periodical payment
  • Issues yearly or ½ yearly membership fees
  • Keeps accurate record of all membership payments
  • Is a signatory on the Women Can bank account
  • Contributes to applications for funding from funding bodies, including generating ideas for sustainability projects
  • And has the ability to have fun!
