Little Things for Tiny Tots

#About Us

Little Things for Tiny Tots distributes new and pre-loved essential baby items to WA families in need. We provide a box of “little things” to assist families to care for their newborn with items such as clothing, blankets, nappies, wipes, toys and books. Our volunteers collect and package donations into New Baby Boxes which are distributed via existing support services and government agencies.

#About the Role

The Treasurer role is focused on overseeing the charity's finances. The role participates at Board meetings and administers the organisation’s financial affairs. It will be supported by a Finance Officer, who will manage the day to day accounts.

Key internal and external stakeholders for this role include the Board, ATO, auditors, ACNC, Dept. of Commerce, Banks etc). As an office bearing role we will need to provide the successful candidate’s details to our governing bodies.

#Core Responsibilities

Oversee, review and guide financial management (including planning, budgeting and reporting) Ensure financial risk is mitigated Contribute to strategic planning and follow good governance Establish a framework for financial management procedures Prepare annual audit and liaise with auditors Prepare monthly reports and annual reports (with support of Finance Officer) Maintain full oversight of all financial activity, including grant acquittals and special budget forecasting.
Meet all financial annual reporting requirements and legal obligations (e.g. ACNC and WA Charity License) Oversee reimbursement process for purchases made by committee members Supervise volunteer Finance Officer

Strong financial skills and insight Strong communication and organisational skills Willingness to take a leadership role Be trustworthy, methodical and reliable Be comfortable with cloud based accounting software Personal commitment to the mission of Little Things. Volunteers with an understanding of the not for profit environment, grant acquittals and the relevant transferable skills will be highly desired Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business or Finance would be beneficial in the role, although not essential *Perth based

#Time Commitment

Approximately 8-10 hours per month working from home. Formal time commitments include six Board meetings per year, one AGM and email communication. Board video meetings are held in the evenings.
