As a volunteer Community Visitor you will visit a lonely resident at an Aged Care home in the local area. During your visits you can perhaps have a chat over a cuppa, reminisce, do a simple activity together, play an easy boardgame together or take a short walk on the grounds.

Regular fortnightly visits provide the resident with valuable friendship and help to decrease their feelings of loneliness and risk of being socially isolated.

Full induction training is provided by Community Visitors Scheme, Wynnum.

Through this regular one-to-one visiting, the quality of life of the older person can be improved and it can help them to feel less socially isolated.

Volunteering as a Community Visitor can be a very rewarding experience - you can make a positive difference to their lives as well as your own.
