At Friends of the Koala, we believe in a future for koalas in the NSW Northern Rivers. Operating for over 35 years, we have an established history of working towards positive outcomes for koalas.

Friends of the Koala is a complex organisation that is actively evolving from its grassroots origins into a professional, financially sustainable entity. While employees manage the day-to-day operations, the function of the Management Committee is to provide strategic direction and corporate governance for the whole organisation.

We are seeking to appoint members to join our Management Committee, with skills in the following areas: business management, strategic planning, risk management, marketing, human resources and advocacy.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with overseeing the operation of the organisation
• Maintaining high standards of professional and ethical conduct
• Attending and contributing to bimonthly Committee meetings
• Inform, educate, and assist the organisation to build a sustainable future
• Assist in implementing, maintaining and (as necessary) refining a system of good governance that is appropriate for the organisation
• Provide specialist advice to the Management Committee in your area of expertise

Committee terms are 12 months, with the option to renew annually. Committee members will be elected at the AGM on 21st October 2021.
