Do you have a heart for the elderly and are passionate about making a difference in someone’s life? All you need is some spare time and a willingness to give back to your local community. St John Qld are offering an opportunity where you will be fully supported in this essential role in the aged care system, whereby placing value into older people help them live meaningful lives and build social connections that prevent social isolation and loneliness.

It isn’t a huge time commitment, only an hour per fortnight, however your one hour a fortnight could impact an elderly individual’s life for good. It’s an investment of kindness and care to help build a genuine connection overtime.

We try to match volunteers with participants of the program who have similar interests to create conversation, but sometimes a simple cuppa and a smile can do that too! We have culturally diverse opportunities, and we encourage bilingual superstars to apply.

Many senior Australians are already registered, in (Wide Bay), (South Brisbane), (Hervey Bay) with visits available in residential aged care facilities and others who are still living at Home and are experiencing social isolation and loneliness.
