Settlement Support Volunteer

You might undertake basic tasks such as showing a family around the local area, pointing out where to shop or introducing local places of worship and other community activities. You might also help with fundamental tasks including locating and accessing local services such as Centrelink, Medicare and healthcare providers.

Assisting with everyday activities Public transport Shopping Paying bills Medicare Study options Job search and preparation The workplace
Assisting with establishing links to the community:
Finding the location of the local library Exploring services offered by the local council such as school holiday activities, recreation centres, etc Finding a local place of worship Linking with community groups or social groups
