Website, social media and digital storytelling volunteer

Volunteer West is advertising this role on behalf of Community Tributaries.

We’re looking for a tech-literate social media person who can help us create engaging content for all of our online communication channels. You’ll also have the opportunity to play an important role in our digital storytelling project, by equipping members of the community with the skills they need to produce digital stories. This is an ideal role for marketing and communications students/recent graduates who would like to gain work experience in the not-for-profit sector and make a real difference in our community! We also welcome volunteers of a mature age.

The work would have to be done from their homes or public spaces. While members have regular monthly meetings, most interaction with the volunteer(s) would be online.

We hold monthly meetings at the Walker Close community centre in Altona North.

Your tasks will include:

  • Refreshing the Community Tributaries (CT) website.
  • Setting up an engaging and exciting social media presence for CT.
  • Participating in CT’s digital storytelling project, e.g. by running workshops and assisting individuals and organisations to produce digital stories.

We’re looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Website development
  • Social media
  • Skills in preparing short videos, including editing You are welcome to apply if you have any, but not necessarily all, of these skills.
