Vera might be a little shy to start with but once you get to know her you will discover her great sense of humour and her warm and friendly personality. She enjoys gardening, sewing, embroidering, watching TV, especially Australian soaps, and her much-loved cat. Vera is looking for someone with similar likes to share stories and a chat. Initially she would like someone to visit her at home and progress to going out for coffee or lunch, visiting the shops or taking a walk. The ability to help Vera learn how to use her IPAD would be a bonus.

This volunteer will need to be thoughtful and patient, with some insight into short term memory loss. Ideally you will be available once per week in the afternoon on any weekday, have a valid license and access to a car. Use your skills to provide companionship, and support Vera*. As a valued member of the Social Support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. Volunteer to inspire people, enliven communities and confronting injustice to make an impact in your community. If you are interested in this role please call 13 93 75 and quote TI-S-07.
