VOLUNTEER DRIVER - COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY
DVCS Volunteers HubKey duties involve transporting food and other material donations from access points in Greensborough, Eltham, Diamond Creek to the food pantries. It may also involve collecting one off donations of food or other items from the pantry locations to deliver to other key areas in the Diamond Valley Region.
DVCS Volunteer Drivers will need to have a moderate level of knowledge of the local area and high level of literacy and written communication skills to travel between donation collection and delivery points and the participating community organisations. They will need to have the capacity to work independently and with little direction, show initiative to plan collection and delivery journeys and be physically fit to be able to collect and deliver donations.
DVCS Volunteer Drivers must have use of their own vehicle and a current driver’s license. Volunteers will receive reimbursement for use of private vehicles costs associated with collection of food and other goods from donation points and delivery points. The rate of reimbursement is determined by the Australian Tax Office at 0.80 cents per kilometre.
