Are you social, outgoing and love to chat? Or perhaps you prefer quiet afternoons, a cup of tea and a puzzle? We are looking for a variety of volunteers in the South Eastern suburbs to support members of their local community to regain their social independence.

Visits might involve sharing conversation, local outings to the community or a quiet catch up in the home. If you are passionate about supporting those in our community who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you!

As a valued member of the Social Support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator who we assist you throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confronting injustice to make an impact in your community. Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support people to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love, in Melbourne and the Grampians areas. Whatever ‘living life to the fullest’ looks like for them, we help to make it happen.

Uniting is a child safe organisation and is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, at all times. As a ‘child safe’ organisation, employment with Uniting is subject to a satisfactory national (and international where relevant) police check and relevant Working with Children Check in your State prior to commencement of any paid or unpaid work and/or participation in any service or undertaking.

It is a condition of engagement that all eligible workforce in Victoria receive the COVID-19 vaccination and supporting evidence may be requested in order to perform duties at any of Uniting’s workplaces.

Uniting is also committed to equal opportunity and ensuring the workplace is reflective of the community. We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with a disability.
