Volunteer Op Shop Assistant – Glebe

Ted Noffs Foundation NSW

Logo for Ted Noffs Foundation NSW

The Ted Noffs Foundation is a nationwide Not for Profit Charity dedicated to supporting disadvantaged young people. Through a wide range of services, such as emergency social housing, safe spaces, counselling, and drug and alcohol programs, we help young people get back on their feet and work towards brighter futures.

One of the main ways we fund these vital services is through our Noffs Op Shops, and now we’re thrilled to be opening a brand-new store in Glebe!

Our shops are more than just retail spaces; they’re community hubs that promote sustainability by giving pre loved items a second life. From women’s and men’s clothing to books, bric-a-brac, and homewares, our stores have something for everyone, and every sale makes a difference in the lives of young people.

About the role We are looking for friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers to join our new Glebe team. As a Shop Assistant, you will be the face of our store, helping create a welcoming space for customers while supporting the day to day running of the shop.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with opening and closing the store
  • Greeting and serving customers with great customer service
  • Sorting, pricing, and displaying donated items
  • Operating the till and handling transactions
  • Keeping the store clean, tidy, and inviting
  • Supporting fellow volunteers and working as part of a team

What’s in it for you?

  • Be part of an exciting new store opening and make your mark from the very beginning
  • Join a fun and supportive team that’s passionate about making a difference
  • Gain retail and customer service experience while contributing to a good cause
  • Meet new people, build connections, and become part of your local community
  • Contribute to a more sustainable future by reducing waste and supporting reuse

At Noffs, we are committed to gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity. We are building a culturally safe workplace and proudly welcome First Nations people of Australia, the LGBTIQA+ community, and people from all cultural backgrounds.

If you’d like to give back, meet new people, and be part of an exciting new chapter in Glebe, we’d love to hear from you!
