RSPCA NSW are seeking a small group of volunteers to assist our Eurobodalla Volunteer Branch to transport animals between their respective locations, including to/from veterinary appointments, drop-offs to foster carer or adopters’ homes, or donation collections from local businesses or residents if needed.

In this volunteering role, you will be essential to ensuring that animals are welcomed into loving new homes, receive their medical treatments as soon as possible, and provide supplies to a team run fully by volunteers.

Please note: All volunteers in this role must use their own vehicle to transport animals who sometimes may cause damage to your vehicle. Please note, RSPCA NSW are unable to cover damage to vehicles or property, but we are able to reimburse you for fuel used whilst volunteering (receipts to be provided).

What this role looks like:

  • Transporting animals to and from veterinary treatments
  • Dropping off or collection animals from local foster homes
  • Uniting adopted animals with their new adopted family and verifying collection details
  • Complying with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines
  • Understanding and complying with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures, including the Confidentiality Agreement and Motor Vehicle Policy

What we need from you:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Hold a current full C class drivers’ licence (photo evidence required)
  • Confident in handling animals of different types and sizes, principally dogs and puppies but also, from time to time, cats and kittens
  • Happy to use your own vehicle while volunteering
  • Ability to follow direction, work within a team and individually
  • Clear, friendly and accurate communication skills
  • Positive and professional attitude
