Volunteering with HammondCare At Home is one way you can give something back to the aged or frail in our society. Not only does volunteering have an impact on the person you spend time with, but you'll learn a lot and meet new people.

You'll be spending time with an elderly person in their home or local community, and you can sit and chat about various topics of interest. You may wish to get involved by:

• Playing board games

• Reminiscing

• Listen to music

• Read to a client

• Go out for a walk or to a café for coffee.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
