Greenwich Hospital Volunteer Services is launching a new library program for our staff and the patients that spend time with us. You'll love this volunteer librarian role if you have a passion for books and serving people’s needs in a hospital.

As a library volunteer you'll be required

  • To maintain the books in both libraries (Staff and patient)
  • Keep a record online system of the books loaned
  • Tidy and clean the area when necessary.
  • Take the book trolley to patients regularly and leave magazines in waiting areas
  • Other tasks including stocktaking, covering books, barcode labeling and filing.

This role will suit you if you can

  • work independently, work from notes left and instructions.
  • communicate with patients, staff and other volunteers.

  • use your strong initiative skills

  • have a passion for books and basic knowledge of library filing and maintenance systems.

Ideally you'll be available 1-2 hours each week for 12 months or longer (Monday to Friday). We would be happy to talk with you about a suitable day and time. Greenwich Hospital is located on River Road, Greenwich NSW 2065

We're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need and we have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of our patients. We'll provide training as well as ongoing support.
