Tech Help & Community Support for Seniors (Regional WA)

Silverchain Group
Logo for Silverchain Group

If you can offer 1-2 hours a week with a reasonably consistent commitment, we would love to hear from you.

You will need to have basic skills to operate most electronic devices, programs and applications. Also be patient, compassionate and a good communicator.

We will provide all the training, guidance and support from your Volunteer Team Leader to ensure you are ready to help our clients. Training includes induction, Silverchain Best Care learning modules.

You will meet some lovely senior people in your community and help make a difference to their lifestyle to stay living at home.

Silverchain is in a unique position to offer this new service to increase the skills of seniors and help them operate and navigate their tech devices. We can help them overcome some frustrations and offer simple and easy to learn tips and guidance (all the easy things you may take for granted).

By engaging “tech savvy” volunteers to work with our senior clients, we can enhance the client’s ability to stay connected with family and friends, reduce isolation and loneliness and also learn how to access reliable and/or up to date information relating to an emergency.

This position is suitable for people aged 18+

A police clearance is required and is paid for by the organisation.

The role is suitable for those over 55yrs on a Centrelink Mutual Obligation. This could be a great work experience opportunity or just a meaningful way to stay connected yourself with your local community, have fun, make friends and make a real change is someone else’s life.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
