WA Wildlife's Recovery Ward program is for anyone interested in rehabilitating wildlife (there are no pre-requisites). Recovery Ward volunteers need to attend a minimum of one shift per week (8.30am - 2.30pm or 2.30pm - 8.30pm). Volunteers will work in our wildlife hospital under the guidance of one of our Veterinarians and/or an experienced volunteer and are responsible for the following tasks:

Record keeping. Administering non prescription medications. Administering fluids and food via syringe or tube. Triaging new patients admitted to the wildlife hospital. Answering incoming phone calls and admitting new patients arriving at the hospital. Preparing food for a variety of animals. Cleaning cages, vivariums or other housing facilities. Washing dishes, laundry, perches and equipment. Sweeping, mopping of centre facilities. Weighing animals. Handling a variety of animals. Assisting veterinarians with various procedures.
