Recovery Volunteer
WA Wildlife (Supported by Volunteer Melville!)The WA Wildlife's Recovery Ward program is for anyone interested in rehabilitating wildlife (there are no pre-requisites). Recovery Ward volunteers need to attend a minimum of one shift per week (8.30am - 2.30pm or 2.30pm - 8.30pm). Volunteers will work in our wildlife hospital under the guidance of one of our Veterinarians and/or an experienced volunteer and are responsible for the following tasks:
Record keeping. Administering non prescription medications. Administering fluids and food via syringe or tube. Preparing food for a variety of animals. Cleaning cages, vivariums or other housing facilities. Washing dishes, laundry, perches and equipment. Sweeping, mopping of hospital facilities. Weighing animals. Handling a variety of animals. Assisting veterinarians with various tasks.
