Recreation Program Support - Pottery Pouring
Vision AustraliaSupport clients in a group setting and help others to enjoy creating art. Help to assist in the planning, preparation and delivery of recreational activities with people who experience blindness or low vision.
If you have an interest in pottery this is the perfect role for you.
KEY DUTIES
The volunteer will:
• Pour liquid clay into moulds,
• Create pottery pieces ready for BISQUE,
• Help in the pottery room,
• Support client(s) to actively participate in the pottery recreational activity,
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand and respond to their needs by face-to-face, email or telephone,
• Complete required data recording tasks to accurately record information about your volunteering activities.
The volunteer may: • perform driving tasks to transport (pick up and drop off) - transferring green ware to kiln, • ensure vehicles are left in a standard for use by other staff and volunteers, • be required to attend meetings that assist with planning and information provision.

• Working with people who are blind or have low vision
DESIRABLE SKILLS (NOT ESSENTIAL) The volunteer may have abilities in: • Good written skills and fluent English speaking • Manual handling skills • Time management skills • Working with minimal supervision • Working with children or young people aged 0 to 18 years
