Community Transport Volunteer Driver

Volunteer drivers are responsible for operating 12 seater buses in a manner which ensures the safety of themselves, their passengers and the public in accordance with the relevant road laws, other applicable legislation & company policies.

Assisting clients safely into and out of vehicles, which involves ensuring clients are safe and secure and wearing appropriate restraints.

Collecting bus & mobile phone, as well as obtaining a list of clients, pick-up points & journeys at the start of each shift from WCC (Pacific Epping).

Inform the Manager of Transport and Enterprise of any safety issues discovered during the operation of the vehicles.

Complete vehicle departure checks via an online web page.

Reporting any damage, defect or repairs needed to the vehicle immediately.

Fitting child seats, booster seats and restraints into the vehicle.

Accepting client donations.

Completing a daily report at the end of each shift, including a safety check of the bus, making sure the bus is clean and filling out a log book.

Following the COVID Safe plan for the Community Transport service, this includes strict hygiene protocols and social distancing guidelines.

Attending all relevant training and meetings that the role needs.
