Hunter Volunteer Centre
Logo for Hunter Volunteer Centre

Community Visitors volunteers are matched one-to-one with an aged person living in a private home. Volunteers visit weekly or fortnightly for at least an hour to provide companionship, friendship and connection to the wider community. Visits are relaxed and social in nature. This role suits someone over 18 who has a genuine interest in working with elderly people. You must have good communication and listening skills and have empathy for mature aged, disadvantaged and socially isolated people.

As a Community Visitor volunteer you will be broadening your skills and making a connection that can enrich your life as well as the person you are visiting. You will have the opportunity to improve the quality of life of someone who would otherwise be socially isolated. You can develop a personal connection and make new friendships.

Training, supervision and ongoing support are provided to all volunteers.

A National Criminal History Check will be required prior to commencement and renewed every three years.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
