St John Ambulance Australia SA Inc (St John SA) has been serving the South Australian community since 1885 and internationally is part of a wider organisation with a long and honourable history.

A self-funding charitable organisation supporting the well-being of South Australians, St John SA assists tens of thousands of people across the state each year through the delivery of event health services, first aid training and products, and social inclusion programs.

St John SA is currently seeking expressions of interest from candidates wishing to join the Emergency Management team as the team Lead.

The Lead - Emergency Management will implement the reforms to St John SA’s emergency management function, as well as lead and coordinate the day to day activities of the Emergency Management Group. You will also provide leadership and support to members to enhance the organisation’s capability of providing quality services to the community.

The role is responsible to:

  • implement and drive reform of emergency management capabilities
  • maintain and enhance relative policy and procedure
  • liaise with the training team in terms of resourcing and delivery of required programs
  • chair Emergency Management Group meetings
  • develop and review Key Performance Indicators relevant to the Emergency Management Team
  • establish processes to ascertain the capability of resources in times of major emergency
  • advise the Chief Executive Officer in all matters relevant to the function
  • delivery on requirements provided within the current strategic and business plans
