Capture Cultural Dancing & the Blind on Film!

Blind Sports Victoria Inc.

Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria (BSRV) is a not-for-profit organisation that was established in 1977 to promote health and wellbeing for people who are blind or vision impaired.

BSRV was recently successful in receiving funding from the National Heart Foundation to deliver a series of cultural dance workshops for the blind community.

BSRV is looking for a volunteer with experience capturing stories through film. You will attend five workshops in Kooyong, Melbourne, where people who are blind or vision impaired will be learning different cultural dances. You will capture the dancing, the music, and most importantly, the benefits of people coming together to dance. The result will be a 5-10 minute short video. Ideally, you will have your own equipment, have strong interpersonal skills, and be available on Thursdays during school hours from April to July, 2021.

Please note, all volunteers will be police checked and trained in sighted guiding before commencement.

Maybe you're a film student or a retired media teacher, whoever you are we want to hear from you!

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
