Gardening Guru Tasks include planting out new gardens, tree planting, mulching, watering, weeding, pruning, maintenance of potted plants, cleaning of signs and assisting guests where required. This is a physically demanding role with lots of walking, bending down, lifting and manual labour. The volunteer should have a high level of physical fitness in order to be able to undertake this role. The volunteer must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and be on their feet for 6 hours. Previous experience working with plants is required. If you are a good match for the role, arrangements will be made for you to attend four trial shifts with the Horticulture team, so you can find out about the role first hand and also be assessed on your suitability. Placements within any Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary volunteer program are limited and no guarantee of acceptance will be given.
