Currumbin Sanctuary Horticulture Program - Gardening Guru's

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary - National Trust Australia (Qld)

Gardening Guru Tasks include planting out new gardens, tree planting, mulching, watering, weeding, pruning, maintenance of potted plants, cleaning of signs and assisting guests where required. This is a physically demanding role with lots of walking, bending down, lifting and manual labour. The volunteer should have a high level of physical fitness in order to be able to undertake this role. The volunteer must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and be on their feet for 6 hours. Previous experience working with plants is required. If you are a good match for the role, arrangements will be made for you to attend four trial shifts with the Horticulture team, so you can find out about the role first hand and also be assessed on your suitability. Thank you for understanding that in order to protect both our animals and Sanctuary operations, only people who meet the selection criteria and program requirements can be accepted into the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary volunteer programs.
