The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak and Victoria’s hard lockdown increased social isolation and the feeling of loneliness which has led to mental health issues such as depression and anxiety in older adults. Studies have demonstrated that social support networks could help the elderly to foster meaningful connections and sense of belongingness during and after an isolation period.

If you would like to support the elderly in reconnecting back into their communities and make a positive impact in their daily lives and mental health, then our In-Home Care program is for you!

Baptcare has created different Volunteer opportunities to support the elderly during these tough times:

• Transporting clients to or from our day respite centre programs located at Bentleigh and Ashwood
