Event Coordinator - Flowers at Villa Alba

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Villa Alba Museum Inc.

Villa Alba is a heritage listed Italianate mansion in Kew, Melbourne built and decorated in the 1880’s for William and Anna Maria Greenlaw. Villa Alba was elaborately decorated to include hand-painted trompe l’loeil ceiling and mural decorations incorporating diverse and eclectic design elements, friezes and stencils, many of which are based on floral motifs. It is the only remaining example in Melbourne of this type of domestic interior decoration on this scale.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Steering Group to design and plan the “Flowers at Villa Alba” program 2021. The grant funding received for this program envisaged lectures, workshops and exhibitions focused on floral themes drawing on the heritage significance of Villa Alba’s floral decorations and gardens
  • Provide structure for the program by documenting the “Flowers at Villa Alba” project plan including event management plan, budget, marketing strategy and evaluation methodology
  • Take a leadership role to support the coordination and implementation of the Flowers at Villa Alba program, delivering a successful and engaging community program

  • Experience operating within a small grant budget and generating profitable community events
