The GI Cancer Institute undertakes research to improve patient care and medical practice in the treatment of Gastro-Intestinal (GI) cancer. We are committed to changing outcomes for patients with GI cancer through our work to raise awareness and funds.
We are looking for a Volunteer Administration Assistant to assist us 1-2 days a week with the administration of our database and donations. The role involves the organisation of donations from our members and supporters. We are looking for someone who can work happily within a small team and wants to gain skills and experience in the not-for-profit sector. About you: • Enthusiastic and a team player • Able to multitask and take initiative • Responsible and committed to the role • Previous experience preferred but not essential
In this role you will assist with: • Opening & sorting mail, including folding receipts • Updating supporter details in Excel spreadsheets • Assisting in the logistics of large mailing appeals • Ad hoc duties to assist in the office
In this role you will gain valuable charity experience, learn how to work as part of a team, improve your career opportunities and make a productive contribution to cancer research. You will be supported by an experienced and professional team at all times and have the opportunity to receive training, support and feedback from them.
This is a voluntary position which would suit someone who is available 7-14 hours a week on a Tuesday and/or Friday for a period of one month, with option to extend. Within these working days we are happy to be flexible based on your availability.
