Early Support For ParentsAbout the role :
Our Board Team is responsible for the strategic development and oversight of the organisation as a whole. The Board is responsible for the delivery of the Government Funded contract through the Department of Communities Tasmania and for the delivery of Family Volunteer Support Worker roles into the Tasmanian Community.
The Treasurer will be responsible for; forecasting the years budget, attending monthly Board meetings (in person or online 12pm-2pm 2nd Tuesday of the month), completing/managing banking transactions as required (approx. 1 hour a month), preparing the monthly Treasurers Report and P&L in consultation with the Administration Officer, maintaining an effective working relationship with the external bookkeeper who manages the payroll aspects.
This role will require a flexible weekly commitment of approximately 2 hours per week and can be done remotely.

You will bring a dynamic energy to the Board with vision and drive to grow our organisation and work closely as a team member to deliver the objectives in the Strategic Plan document.
You will have a strong interest in growing the capacity of Tasmanian Families through strength based approaches, and be an innovative thinker in leading change throughout the organisation to assist in navigating the multi-faceted challenges families of today are facing.
You will have a passion for best practice, and following industry progression in Family Support Services.
Your Skills:
You will possess excellent computer skills. Confidence in navigating Xero, emails, cloud based file sharing programs and video conferencing. It should be noted access to a phone is essential. A laptop will be provided for the Treasurer's role.
You will have a strong understanding of people management or a desire to learn from the existing Board, and the nuances of Volunteer Management.
A background in Family Services is not essential, but a passion for it is. Skills in finances, budgeting, HR, people management and organisational strategy are key to the success of our organisation.
Your Time:
Board Meetings are held Monthly a Tuesday at 12pm, with online an option for remote candidates.
Additional Working groups may be required throughout the financial year.
Capacity to be contactable and responsive to emails throughout the month is essential.
