A fantastic opportunity exists for a Handyman / Painter to join our team.

Our Company:

Bankstown Polish Club is a Co-Operative Community Club for Polish-Australians. We are open to all, and all visitors are welcome. The Polish Club’s mission is to improve the lives of Polish-speaking people and families living in Sydney, and assist them to become contributing, active participants in Australian society while maintaining a strong ethnic identity and a sense of community.

We strive to provide the highest quality of programs, events, and services that embrace Polish culture, education, and to cultivate learning and appreciation of our history, as well as promoting an atmosphere of inclusion and positivity.

The Role:

  • Assist the team in the day to day maintenance requirements of the hotel
  • Check and note to repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.
  • Repairs to building and equipment (i.e. toilets, faucets, fixtures, air conditioning, door locks, furniture and patching and painting etc.).
  • Preventative maintenance and inspections of public spaces
  • Proactively identify property maintenance issues wand to resolve with a "hands on" attitude.
  • Carry out preventative and repair painting where required throughout
  • Ensure the external areas of the club are maintained, neat and tidy
  • Carry out preventative and repair painting where required throughout the Club.
  • Grouting and minor repairs to bathroom facilities.
  • Report back on the completion, or delay, of tasks.
  • Assist in keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant & equipment.

What You Need:

  • Police Check
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Multi-lingual (Polish) would be advantageous but by no means necessary
  • Good people skills
  • Consistently punctual and reliable
  • Pride in personal work performance
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A "can-do attitude” with a smile!
