Covid has had a significant impact on our clients who usually visit our day respite centers but were unable to during the lock down. Now we are supporting them with in home visits and also responding to requests for help with transport as they wish to visit our days centers now that they have reopened and need some assistance to get there and home.

As you may imagine the lock down was a lonely time, so we have created some new volunteer roles to help reduce social isolation and help them to reconnect back into the community.

The new volunteer roles available are:

Transporting clients to our day center programs (reimbursement may be offered) Supporting the day centers with activities In home visits – which may include just spending time with them at home or even taking them to the movies, on non-essential shopping trips or out for a coffee or to a park or community activity The Respite Day Centers that we are beginning the transport program with, are located in Bentleigh and Ashwood and clients usually live in the surrounding suburbs.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
