The role includes:

• Assisting staff with preparing for outings
• Checking fleet vehicles to ensure they are safe, clean and ready for use
• Assisting Residents on and off vehicles
• Ensuring Residents adhere to all road traffic safety requirements i.e. wearing seat belts etc
• Assisting staff with the paperwork required for outings
• Cleaning & refuelling of vehicles after outings

Suitable for: Centrelink Volunteers, Skilled Volunteers

Commitment: Regular - more than 6 months

Training: COVID-19; WH&S; ACH New Volunteer Training; ACH Driver Training; Induction

Time required: Between 2 to 4 hours per trip, weekdays, some weekends - subject to Social Outings Schedule

Skills and experience required for Driver and Transport Support Volunteers are:

• Friendly & polite nature
• Reliable
• Drivers license (essential)
• Small Bus License (desirable)
• Safe driving record
• Able to work independently
• Admin & paper work ability
• Interest in the well being of older people
• Traffic Check
• Annual Flu Vaccination
