Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria is currently seeking a female volunteer to accompany a blind lady living in Broadmeadows on weekly walks in her local area. You need to live in a 5 km radius from Broadmeadows, be willing to wear a mask at all times, be reliable and enjoy walking. Applicants who are double vaccinated will be prioritised. Help this lady explore her suburb, get fit and feel socially connected!

You will be part of the Walking with Willpower program, which aims to increase fitness, well-being and community involvement for adults who are blind or vision impaired.

As a friendly, volunteer walking buddy you need to be more than 18 years of age, with a positive attitude towards people with disabilities.

Recruitment involves an interview, police and referee checks and completion of short training on how to best assist a person who has vision loss whilst out walking.
