The Booondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Uniting Victoria & Tasmania.

During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

Margaret is looking to spend time with someone to share her interests and support and encourage her to achieve her social goals and reconnect with her hobbies. Margaret’s’ interests include gardening, movies, cards and scrabble. The selected applicant will be a punctual conversationalist with a healthy sense of humour. Be prepared to share both in home and community based visits to share in activities such as cards and scrabble .

Your own vehicle will be required to transport Margaret* on community-based outings. Valid driver’s license necessary. Effective communication skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.
