Our small charity is looking for a number of people to fill the volunteer role of Events Officer for anywhere from a regular 2 hours per week, through to just 10 hours per year.

We aim to have around 15 volunteers in this role, so volunteers can contribute based on their skill set, interests, and availability. If you are able to contribute a few hours a month or even 10 hours per year, we encourage you to consider this role.

A range of responsibilities and tasks to choose from or contribute to are as follows:

  • Guest check in and record keeping.
  • Greeting and assisting attendees on the day.
  • Help with set up and pack down at events (chairs, tables).
  • Food and drink management at some events.
  • Identifying potential guest speakers and online research.
  • Marketing and communication tasks.
  • Admin and record keeping tasks.

Time commitment Hours for this role are ad hoc and as needed. For example, one volunteer may wish to contribute in-person to one event in March for 4 hours, and then another event in-person 6 months later for 6 hours. Another volunteer may be able to contribute 1 hour each week assisting with online event related tasks. There is flexibility.

Requirements

  • Reliability is essential for this role for events you have committed to assisting with, especially in-person where you will need to show up and on time.
  • Ability to drive to our Nedlands premises is desirable, however we are also able to accept volunteers who will use public transport. The busy stops right outside the premises.
  • Online volunteers are welcome to apply to assist with online tasks.
  • Friendly and polite communications are essential.
  • Experience with customer service.
  • Speed and efficiency are important to ensure smooth running of events.
