At the railway our tour guides are called Car Captains and as a member of #teamPRR you will be interacting with our passengers. On the train journey you will be responsible for passenger safety, pointing out the various landmarks the train passes, and ensuring our passengers enjoy their entire rail experience, from being onboard to alighting the train. PRRPS welcomes potential guides who are good communicators, who want to be part of a Train Crew Team, and communicating with our passengers, other Car Captains and the Train crew. Orientation and Training is provided to ensure an understanding of Rail Safety and WHS requirements including the Emergency Action Plans. If you have First Aid training it's an advantage, but not essential.

All members of our train crews wear a uniform, so this can be discussed and arranged with our Volunteer Coordinator.

If you are under 18 years old you will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All our volunteers are required to undergo a “Working with Children” check and adhere to the PRR Code of Conduct policy.

The role will be interacting with people of all ages so a 'Working With Children' check & clearance is essential. We are a family-friendly organisation.
