At the heart of The Salvation Army Wyndham City Community Support Services is a passion to support the basic needs of individuals experiencing disadvantage and communities in times of difficulty. The Food and Material Aid Assistant role organises the unpacking and distribution of food and material aid items to people who are in current crisis as well as contributing to creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere at our Community Support Service, and ensuring everything is packed away tidily at the end of the day. We are looking for a volunteer who can assist in our food room, which supports our vulnerable clients in need.

Volunteers must be passionate about helping people and have a willingness to assist and support our small team.

Our Food Room hours are Monday to Thursday 9.30-2pm. However, you can choose to work one or more days depending on your availability.

Key to this role is being able to undertake and assist with the preparation of appropriate food and material packs based on the needs of the individual clients.  You will have the ability to communicate with others, work as a team and be able to contribute to making the Centre a warm and welcoming space.

The Food room is open Monday- Thursday 9am - 2pm. Time required is one or two days per week. Please advise your availability in your expression of interest.
