Contributing metal fabrication skills for restoration of 1927 steamship John Oxley.

We are looking for TWO volunteers with boiler-making skills who will have experience in metal fabrication, angle grinding, cutting, welding, drilling, bolting and erection required. A minimum of TWO years' experience in general engineering work is preferred. Assistance will be provided by other volunteers who have general engineering and steel work experience.

Tuesday to Friday are referred days of work to be discussed at interview. Number of days the volunteer wishes to work will be discussed at the interview.

Site work requires usual steel-capped boots, working clothes and Construction Site Safety Course (we can organise this). WHS training will be part of volunteering.

Volunteers are an essential part of Sydney Heritage Fleet projects – your contribution will assist restoration and operation of heritage ships. Volunteers also enjoy the benefits of working together in a rewarding social environment.
