Paws for A Purpose are a young national charity with the mission of helping people and pets in need.

Our major project is an ambitious one to try and stop “Parvo” (Canine Parvovirus), a terrible disease that kills puppies across Australia, and especially targets the pets of people who are disadvantaged.

As well as this, we are also working on projects to help the Elderly with pets and also people experiencing homelessness, with their pets.

In this volunteer role you will undertake: • Sourcing of suitably qualified volunteers for various skilled and unskilled positions nationally using a variety of digital platforms including job boards and social media. • Screening, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding volunteers. • Support of the review and implementation of procedures, which aim to create a positive volunteer experience and for volunteer applicants. • Analysis of data to implement key volunteer strategic activities and opportunities. • Formulating training, development and recognition programs for volunteers to ensure high levels of engagement. • Support of key events through the year with volunteer mobilisation.

To fulfil this volunteer role you need: • Experience either in a recruitment or human resources role • Knowledge of candidate sourcing techniques and excellent advert writing skills • Experience with conducting interviews (remotely) and assessing best fit for available roles through various techniques including behavioural interviewing • Demonstrated skills in improving the candidate experience and ongoing team member engagement. • Ability to manage and efficiently turnaround volunteer recruitment drives in response to upcoming events.

A commitment of approximately 6-8 hours per week is expected however will vary depending on current projects. All volunteer work for this Director role will be conducted remotely using various digital technologies to connect with other board members and volunteers.
