If you are looking for a new challenge, and feel you could contribute to our community by educating and guiding our youth, you may be just the person we are looking for.

Basic requirements for Leaders:  Enthusiastic  Willingness to Learn and to attend training  Open to embracing all cultural and spiritual backgrounds  Being able to guide youth in a respectful manner that encourages them to feel safe and maintains and re-enforces positive behaviour  Ability to hold a volunteer Blue Card  Enjoy working with young people between the ages of 5 to 18 years.

The Scout Law, which is the foundation for Australian Scouting, contains three main statements: Be Respectful, Believe in Myself, & Do What is Right. If you identify with our purpose, then a volunteer role as an Adventurous Activities Leader may be perfect for you.

We run water based activities at Shorncliffe each weekend. We expect team members to participate in at least two weekend days each month for us to cover the costs of membership.

Leaders do not need scouting experience. Any experience with youth and the outdoors is helpful, though we have comprehensive free training (as well as mentors) to support you.

“I have over and over again explained that the purpose of the Boy Scout and Girl Guide Movement is to build men and women as citizens endowed with the three H's namely, Health, Happiness and Helpfulness. The man or woman who succeeds in developing these three attributes has secured the main steps to success this Life.” – Baden-Powell, Founder of Scouting
