About the role

As the Cloud Engineering, you will bring your technical expertise across Infrastructure, IaC, DevOps, and Public Cloud (AWS) to deliver the best solutions for our needs.

Part of your responsibilities will be:

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee Cloud Engineering / AWS activities to ensure services are provided and projects are delivered in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Ensure that projects are resourced efficiently and supported effectively
  • Produce detailed design documentation, based on requirements
  • Provide technical expertise, working across a multitude of infrastructure, security, systems and application products 
  • Implement cloud infrastructure, systems and application solutions and services with focus on CI/CD and automation tasks to treat Infrastructure as Code.
  • Prepare relevant handover documentation needed for transition into ongoing support.

Skills & experience

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, solution-oriented, collaborative and approachable with a focus on best practice:

  • Ability build, configure, support and develop AWS cloud platforms and associated systems
  • Technically proficient in AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, EBS, Lambda, S3 etc)
  • Programming languages and scripting - Python PHP etc
  • Strong skills with source code control (Git), and CI/CD tools
  • Experience troubleshooting of common web server, caching and database services; 
  • Security exposure using WAF technologies such as CloudFlare;
  • Implement and manage orchestration tools and develop automating systems.
  • Ability to design and build highly resilient distributed applications using AWS services. You will have a varied range of experiences within technology in specific areas such as web/mobile applications, microservices
  • Linux and/or Windows administration experience, covering systems engineering best practices
  • Solid understanding of networking theory and core internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks)
  • Previous experience working on IaaS, SaaS and PaaS solutions
  • Previous experience working in a Software development environment a plus
  • Proven experience in planning and execution of complex project deployments.
