During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you! Nancy is looking for a friendly, jovial, positive conversationalist to support her to achieve her social goals. Nancy’s interests include gardening, playing cards and doing puzzles. You will be able to support and encourage Nancy* to creatively reconnect with her interests, which include reading.

Practical communication skills and a willingness to share both home and community-based visits essential. Outings may include going out for a coffee, lunch or some window shopping. Your own vehicle will be required to transport Nancy on outings. Valid Victorian drivers license necessary. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided. Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote MY-S-07. *Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with Nancy and enable her to stay connected to the community.
