MS Swimathon Event Day Crew - Redcliffe

MS Queensland

The Event: The MS Swimathon is a Queensland based fundraising event, where teams come together to take part in a fun filled 12-hour swimming relay. Teams are comprised of work mates, friends and sporting groups - essentially anyone and everyone and the idea is there is always someone swimming for their team. There are a range of fun activities throughout the day to keep the atmosphere pumping both in and out of the pool.

The Roles: Our Event Day Crew member role is essentially an assistant to our Events team, and will involve a range of activities such as assisting with set up, helping to manage the merchandise area, preparing for the various activities, taking photos and chatting with our participants.

As the event is quite long we have split the day into two shifts: Morning: 5:00am – 12:00pm Afternoon: 12:00pm – 7:00pm If these shift times don't suit you, we are open to your availability.

You will be provided with a meal, bottle water, a volunteer shirt and be entitled to a break depending on your shift.

The Ideal Candidate: We’re looking for a customer service star – someone who friendly and approachable, who is always smiling and who is prepared to give our participants the best event experience ever. You must work well under pressure, be willing to take direction and be able to think on your feet. Speaking of feet, you will be standing on them quite a bit, so you should be comfortable with this too.

The Organisation: The MS Swimathon is a fundraising event run by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Queensland (MS Queensland). MS Queensland is a leading not-for-profit organisation, based throughout Queensland, providing specialised services to benefit people living with MS and other chronic progressive neurological conditions (PND) throughout Queensland. We exist to help people living with MS to get the best out of life; to advocate for change and to search for a cure.

The money raised by the MS Swimathon participants enables MS Queensland to provide vital services and support to people living with MS in the local region. These services include our NeuroAssist Infoline, Service Coordinators, Wellbeing Centres, Regional Information sessions and Accommodation facilities. Together, with your support as a volunteer for this event, we can ensure that no one has to face MS alone.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
