The Orangutan Project is expanding and we're recruiting Fundraising and Events Volunteers to help raise funds in Wollongong! Fundraising and Events Volunteers are crucial in assisting us to raise the funds we need to save orangutans and their rainforest homes.

About Fundraising and Events Volunteers

As a Fundraising and Events Volunteer, you will take part in a wide range of fundraising activities including stalls at festivals and markets, helping to run and promote quiz nights, and even organising presentations at schools or local businesses.

Your main task is to encourage people to take out orangutan adoptions, buy merchandise, or donate. You'll also help people understand the threats facing orangutans and the vital role The Orangutan Project plays in conservation.

One of the great things about this role is you'll know you're making a real difference to orangutan survival, while also learning new skills and getting to know others who care about this issue. There is training available to help you learn the skills you need. You will report to the Wollongong Regional Representative, who is also a volunteer based in Wollongong.

This is a fun and exciting role where you can spread your wings while raising funds to save orangutans and forests in Sumatra and Borneo.

About you You're passionate about the environment, especially saving orangutans and other wildlife from extinction and protecting their rainforest homes.

You are a good communicator and like getting out and about in your community. You have time and energy to work at markets and festivals, and you want to make a difference by volunteering with an environmental charity. You enjoy working with others and thrive in busy environments.

Experience Any experience in retail or customer service work would be very useful.

Whether you're new to events and fundraising or not, this role will be a great step in your career and will give you experience and skills to help you achieve your goals.
