The Geraldton Meals on Wheels is funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and is managed by Geraldton Community Care (WA Country Health Service).

The program deliver hot and cold meals directly to the homes of isolated and aged community members. The program is fully reliant on volunteers and usually consists of 1hr to 1.5 hrs once per week of your time plus use of your private vehicle. WACHS will offer a subsidy of $50 every six months for volunteers who have used their vehicle on more than 10 occasions. The subsidy is offered in June and December. As a volunteer you will be required to have a road-worthy vehicle and be physically fit and mobile. Volunteers will also be required to undertake some mandatory training prior to commencement.

As a Volunteer you will have contact with the Clients who will welcome a few minutes of your time and this will enable you to enquire after their well-being and provide any concerns or issues to the Coordinator. If this sounds like you, then express your interest today.
