FReeZA is a free event management program for young people aged 15-25 who are looking to contribute to their community by planning & running 6 live music and cultural events throughout the year. As part of the program, you will get practical (and professionally supported) experience organising events (booking performers, promotion, risk management, etc) & staffing them too (initial set up/pack down, door sales, cafe, stage management, etc)!

The Maroondah Freeza program is a yearlong program (February – December 2023).

The group meets every Tuesday from 4:30 – 6:30pm to plan and deliver a number of live music & cultural events (events could include traditional live music shows, short film festivals, skate competitions, murder mystery events, etc). All events are fully supervised, drug, alcohol and smoke free.

Participants will have the opportunity to: • Gain practical event management experience (planning, delivering, and evaluating) • Develop life skills (e.g. communication, teamwork, minute taking/chairing, etc) • Receive free professional training and learn about the music industry • Explore educational and employment pathways

Successful applicants must live, work, study or play in Maroondah. The program is delivered by youth workers and is supported by Maroondah City Council and the Victorian Government.
