Volunteering SA&NT is the peak body for volunteering in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Volunteerability is being delivered in metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Victor Harbor, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Whyalla and the Riverland region.

The program is a partnership with Orana, Volunteering SA&NT, Southern Volunteering SA and Northern Volunteering SA. It aims to create more inclusive communities for people with disability by supporting them to connect with the wider community through volunteering.

As a volunteer buddy you will support people with any type of disability through all stages of volunteering; from initial searching and applying for roles, through to orientation and starting to volunteer. Volunteer buddies are the friendly faces for questions, understanding, encouragement and support throughout a volunteer’s journey.

Volunteer buddies will join the growing Volunteerability team, and volunteer under the support and guidance of Volunteering SA&NT.

Volunteerability matches a volunteer buddy and person with disability, and together they will:

  • Identify interests
  • Look for volunteer roles
  • Complete documentation
  • Navigate volunteer related processes
  • Attend the chosen volunteer role

Role Requirements:

  • National Police Certificate
  • NDIS Worker or valid DHS Disability Services Employment check (VSA&NT will assist to apply for these screening checks, if not already held)
  • Aged 18+ years
  • Complete all required trainings
  • Provide contact details for 2 referees

To be successful in the role you must have a genuine interest in supporting people with disability to engage in volunteering and to help build their own capacity. As well as being friendly and patient, a volunteer buddy must have the ability to get along well with others and have an adaptable approach in communicating with people from all walks of life and abilities.

The role will suit volunteers who are interested in disability support, promoting volunteering and community inclusion.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
